SUBSTITUTE PAY

 
ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE FOR SUBSTITUTE PAY 

1.         $55 per day - substitutes for a non-certified position
2.         $55 per day – substitutes with only a high school diploma who 
            substitute for a certified teacher.
3.         $60 per day – substitutes who have a high school diploma, have
            successfully completed the district’s Substitute Training Course, and
            who substitute for a certified teacher.
 4.         $70 per day – substitutes who are currently certified teachers who
            substitute for a certified teacher.
5.         District employees who substitute on a different job, such as a
            lunchroom operator or custodian, will receive pay for the extra job
            based on the entry level salary schedule for that position.
6.         Certified and non-certified sub pay is based on 1/4 day increments.
                 *  1/4 day - sub will be paid a minimum of 1/2 day
                     1/2 day - sub will be paid for 1/2 day
                     3/4 day - sub will be paid for 3/4 day
                     1 full day - sub will be paid a maximum of 1 full day

* Example - if you only work 1/4 of a day during a regular school day, you will receive sub pay for a minimum of 1/2 day.  If you work 1/4 day for one person and 1/4 day for another person during the same regular school day, you will receive sub pay for a maximum of 1/2 day.

Substitute Pay for RN, LPN, and CNA

1.         $65 per day - for RN

2.         $60 per day - for LPN
3.         $55 per day - for CNA

 Long Term Substitute  

1.         Five consecutive days or less are not considered long-term.
2.         Pay for a non-certified position will increase from $55 to $60 per day on
           the 21st consecutive day.
3.         A certified teacher who is not *Highly Qualified will be paid $70.00 for 
           the first 20 days of a consecutive long-term assignment.  This will 
           increase to certificate pay on the 21st day.  A retired substitute teacher’s salary
           will be based on certification class plus five years experience on the 21st day.

4.         A substitute who holds a current teaching certificate and is *Highly 
           Qualified will receive certificate pay beginning on the first day of the
           assignment as a long-term substitute for a certified position.  A retired
           substitute who holds a current teaching certificate and is *Highly Qualified
           will be paid on certification class plus five years experience beginning on the
           first day of the assignment as a long-term substitute for a certified person.

Cafeteria and Custodial Subs

1.        Custodial subs are paid $7.25/hour
2.        Cafeteria subs are paid $7.25/hour
3.        Bus subs are paid entry level $10.33/hour
